Deadlines
Automatic deadline tracking for every trademark in your portfolio. Dexin reads official documents, calculates due dates, and tracks responses — without any manual setup.
What are Deadlines?
The Deadlines section is an automatic compliance tracker for all trademarks in your portfolio. Every time the India trademark registry issues an examination report, an opposition notice, or any other document that triggers a legal deadline, Dexin detects it overnight and creates the deadline automatically.
You do not need to set up any deadlines manually (except Custom ones). Dexin handles creation and closure — so you can focus on the work rather than the calendar management.
Deadline Types
-
1Examination Report Response Auto-created Auto-closedDue 30 days after the examination report date. Created automatically when the registry issues an exam report. Closed automatically when your reply is detected in the registry.
-
2Section 132 Notice Response Auto-created Auto-closedDue 1 month after the registry issues a notice under Section 132. This notice goes out when no reply to the examination report was filed in time, and it is the last chance before the application is treated as abandoned. Created automatically when the notice is detected; closed automatically when your reply is detected.
-
3Formalities Check Fail Response Auto-created Auto-closedDue 30 days after the formalities check date. Created and closed automatically based on document detection.
-
4Renewal Due Auto-created Auto-closedBased on the trademark's official expiry date. Created automatically from the registration record. Closed automatically when a renewal document is detected.
-
5Renewal Surcharge Window Auto-created Auto-closed6 months after expiry — the last date to renew on payment of a surcharge. Created only once a registration passes its renewal date unrenewed, so it never clutters marks that renew on time. Closed automatically when a renewal is detected.
-
6Renewal Restoration Cutoff Auto-created Auto-closed12 months after expiry — the last date to apply for restoration. Past this date the mark is removed from the register retrospectively from the expiry date. Created only once the surcharge window has passed unrenewed; closed automatically when a renewal or restoration is detected.
-
7Opposition Period Auto-created Manual closeFour months after the trademark is advertised (or re-advertised) in the India trademark journal. Created automatically. Must be closed manually — Dexin cannot detect whether an opposition was filed during this period. Shown on each trademark's record page rather than in the deadline list, since it is a waiting window rather than an action for you to take.
-
8Counter Statement Auto-created Auto-closed2 months after receiving an opposition notice. Created and closed automatically based on document detection.
-
9Rule 45 Evidence Auto-created Auto-managed2 months after the counter statement. Automatically created and tracked as part of the opposition evidence chain.
-
10Rule 46 Evidence Auto-created Auto-managed2 months after Rule 45. Automatically managed as part of the opposition evidence chain.
-
11Rule 47 Evidence Auto-created No auto-close1 month after Rule 46. Created automatically. This is the final stage of the opposition evidence chain — no auto-close applies.
-
12Custom ManualAny deadline you create manually — set your own name, due date, and assign to a team member. Useful for internal milestones, client review dates, or non-standard registry proceedings.
Manual Actions
- Assign to team member — allocate any deadline to a specific person in your portfolio team
- Add custom deadline — create a deadline with your own name and due date for any trademark
- Mark Complete or Cancelled — manually close any deadline regardless of its type
- Filter — filter the deadline list by type, status (Open, Complete, Overdue), or date range
- Search — search by trademark name or application number across all deadlines
- Share — send a trademark's status, documents, and deadlines together in a single WhatsApp message or email, straight from the deadline
Calendar View
All active deadlines and hearings appear on the Home page calendar. Click any date to see a list of what's due that day across your entire portfolio. The calendar provides a week and month view — useful for spotting deadline clusters ahead of time.
Update Schedule
Deadlines are recalculated overnight as part of the daily registry sync. New documents detected during the sync trigger new deadlines immediately — they will be visible the next morning.
Never miss a deadline again
Add your portfolio trademarks and Dexin tracks every deadline automatically.
